Backyard Orchard Design helps homeowners turn ordinary outdoor spaces into beautiful, productive landscapes shaped by orchard expertise, ecological thinking, and long-term care.
Most landscapes are designed to look finished.
We design landscapes that keep becoming more valuable with time — with fruit, flowers, shade, habitat, and seasonal beauty woven into the way you live at home.
Plant Beauty. Grow Legacy. Taste Abundance.
Backyard Orchard Design grew from a simple observation: most yards have far more potential than people realize.
For Edil, that belief is personal.
His connection to land is shaped not only by years of hands-on experience with fruit trees, soil, gardens, and ecological design, but also by his Indigenous background — a way of seeing nature as something alive, relational, and worthy of care.
To him, a yard is not just an outdoor area to decorate or maintain. It is a living place. It has patterns, needs, energy, limits, and possibilities. When cared for with intention, it can feed people, support wildlife, create beauty, and become part of a family’s story.
That perspective became the foundation for his work.
Over the years, Edil saw the same problem again and again. Homeowners wanted beauty. They wanted food. They wanted something meaningful outside their door. But without the right plan, fruit trees were often planted in the wrong place, chosen without enough guidance, or left without the care they needed to become productive.
The problem was not a lack of interest.
It was a lack of orchard-specific design.
Traditional landscaping could make a property look polished, but it often missed the deeper questions: Will this tree get enough sun? Will the soil support long-term growth? Does it have a pollination partner? How will it be pruned? How will the space feel in five or ten years? How will this landscape support the people, plants, and life around it?
Edil saw an opportunity to bridge two worlds that are too often kept separate: the beauty of fine garden design and the abundance of a productive orchard.
That became Backyard Orchard Design.
The work is not just about planting fruit trees. It is about helping people reimagine what their yard can become — a place of shade, flowers, harvests, seasonal rhythm, and deeper connection to nature.
Every project begins with the land itself: the soil, the light, the slope, the existing plants, the movement of the family through the space, and the long-term vision for what the yard could become.
Because when an orchard is designed well, it does more than produce fruit.
It changes the way people experience home — and their relationship with the land around them.
Most fruit trees struggle not because the dream was wrong, but because the plan was missing.
A tree planted in deep shade, a variety without a pollination partner, or soil that wasn't prepared—these are the mistakes that turn a beautiful idea into a frustrating expense. We are here to prevent that.
We don't just plant; we prepare. Before we recommend a single variety, we study your land. We analyze the sunlight, the soil structure, and the long-term flow of your property. We design for how the landscape will look—and how it will serve your family—ten years from now.
The result is clarity. Our process ensures your investment is protected from day one.
Analysis → Design → Installation → Professional Care.

Backyard Orchard Design is for people who look at their yard and feel there is more potential there.
More beauty. More food. More shade. More life. More connection to the seasons.
You may not know what to plant yet. You may not know where the trees should go. You may not know whether your yard can support an orchard at all.
That is exactly where we begin.
We help you understand what is possible and turn that possibility into a clear, buildable plan.

Every property is different, especially in this region. Soil, slope, deer pressure, drainage, shade, and microclimates can change from one yard to the next.
That is why our work is site-specific. We design and care for orchards based on the actual conditions of your land — not generic planting advice.
